City welcomes new Venue Manager

GREENVILLE - Assistant City Manager John Adel has announced that Tess Todora has been hired as the new Venue Manager for the City of Greenville.

Todora will be responsible for managing the Municipal Auditorium, booking, promoting, marketing and advertising events, and facilities and operations management. She is expected to begin work on October 24.

The Grapevine native holds a bachelor’s degree in Entertainment Industry Studies and Public Relations from the Mike Curb School of Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Todora most recently worked in Nashville for Q Prime and Sony RED as a Talent Management Intern. She also has more than five years experience in the hospitality, retail and customer service fields.

In May 2010, the Greenville City Council approved an ordinance creating the Venue Manager position to promote programming of performances and events at the Municipal Auditorium. The creation of the position followed discussions between the City Council and the Tourism Advisory Board on how to better utilize the 1,700 seat auditorium for promotion of tourism and the arts. Funding for the position comes from hotel/motel tax revenue.
