PARIS - North Lamar ISD in Paris has been recognized for college readiness success.
The honor was handed down by Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) after the school was found to have met 11 program essentials and data collection documentation. AVID guidelines seek to raise the expectations of students and statistics show a high college placement rate among schools that meet program requisites.
Recently, The Texas ACT Council recognized both Commerce and Lone Oak ISD also for preparing students for college. Students there were shown to have increased their ACT composite score over the past five years.
