Five Indictments Still Pending in Fake Power Plant

Five defendants still face charges in the reported scheme to sell shares in a fake power plant project in Hunt County. One man has already pleaded guilty to a felony theft charge in connection with the case and was sentenced to 8 years in state prison earlier this year. All six individuals were indicted by a Collin County grand jury. Ronnie Gene Nichols Jr. was already incarcerated in state prison on an unrelated charge, and pleaded guilty in the 380^thDistrict Court in March to one count of theft of property of the value of $100,000 but less than $200,000 by aggregate amount. Indictments remain pending against Ricky Ray Knowles, John David Riddle, Casey Ray Vanloon, Gene Michael McKinney and Kenneth Paul Lawerence.
