Five Indictments Still Pending in Fake Power Plant

Five defendants still face charges in the reported scheme to sell shares in a fake power plant project in Hunt County. One man has already pleaded guilty to a felony theft charge in connection with the case and was sentenced to 8 years in state prison earlier this year. All six individuals were indicted by a Collin County grand jury. Ronnie Gene Nichols Jr. was already incarcerated in state prison on an unrelated charge, and pleaded guilty in the 380thDistrict Court in March to one count of theft of property of the value of $100,000 but less than $200,000 by aggregate amount. Indictments remain pending against Ricky Ray Knowles, John David Riddle, Casey Ray Vanloon, Gene Michael McKinney and Kenneth Paul Lawerence.
