The use of all fireworks within the city limits of Greenville and all incorporated cities in Hunt County is illegal, according to Greenville Police Chief Daniel J. Busken.
Fireworks are allowed in the unincorporated areas. Violators can be cited to appear in court and face stiff fines for each offense. And not having to deal with fireworks within city limits would make ringing in the new year more pleasant for officers as well, according to Busken.
