Superintendent search team hired for SSISD

SULPHUR SPRINGS - A Terrell firm has been hired to begin the search for a new superintendent at Sulphur Springs ISD.

Patsy Bolton will retire at the end of the school year after 43 years with the district, the last eight as superintendent.

On Monday, Trustees hired Horn, Smith, Wood and Preston Educational Consultants, who will help develop a profile of characteristics and credentials the superintendent should have. The firm will also check references and conduct the required criminal background check of all candidates. Cost for their services will run SSISD $7,000.

Applications will be accepted through Feb. 24 from potential candidates.

Other area schools seeking a new superintendent are Como-Pickton and Royse City ISD.
