Schools Delay Opening in West Texas

Some schools in West Texas have delayed opening due to winter weather.

Texas Tech University in Lubbock pushed back the start of classes until 10 a.m. Monday amid freezing temperatures and misty conditions. The National Weather Service says a winter weather advisory covered the area before dawn. Schools in San Angelo were starting two hours late Monday due to the threat of icy roads. Forecasters say the Dallas-Fort Worth area faced a chance of snow and light sleet Monday. Rain fell before dawn.
