Cherry due back in Hunt County courtroom in June

GREENVILLE - A local woman convicted last month of attempting to kill her infant daughter is now facing a drug possession charge.

Lola Danielle Cherry was sentenced to 24 years in prison upon her conviction in January. Prosecutors claimed Cherry pushed a diaper wipe down her 12-month-old baby’s throat in 2009. The child survived.

She’ll now be back in a Hunt County courtroom in June. Cherry was allegedly found in possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine in September 2010.
