Authorities searching for escaped jail inmate

KXII-TV

FANNIN COUNTY - A Fannin County Jail inmate remained on the loose this afternoon after he reportedly escaped a work detail Tuesday morning.

Multiple media outlets identify the man as Jimmy Lee Brock, a white man, standing about 5' 8" tall who weighs approximately 160 pounds and has several tattoos.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. while Brock was working alongside FM 1396 near Honey Grove where he is said to have stolen an employee's car.

The vehicle is a 2008 gold Chevy Impala with handicapped Texas plates LP9-DPKZ. He was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit and brown jacket and possibly had a tan shirt under the jumpsuit.

A Fannin County Jail official tells KETR that Chief Deputy James Woods is leading the investigation. He was not immediately available for comment, nor was Sheriff Donnie Foster. The Fannin County Sheriff’s Office had not released a statement at last report.
