Severe weather brings heavy damage to Lake Creek

DELTA COUNTY - A possible tornado ripped through a structure in the Lake Creek area of Delta County Thursday morning.

No one was injured in the incident. Images reveal that a barn/garage was completely destroyed.

Mark Fox with the National Weather Service Office in Fort Worth tells KETR the earliest crews can visit the area to assess the type of storm that passed through would be Friday morning.

The severe activity pushed through the county at approximately 9 a.m. The Weather Service says strong winds were associated with the front end of the storm.

The latest forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon, decreasing to about 80 percent Thursday evening, with winds gusting as high as 30 mph. Rain and some thunderstorms are likely throughout much of the weekend.
