Hunt County recieves a grade of B in Air Quality

stateoftheair.org

Results were mixed for area counties based on an air quality test performed by the American Lung Association.

13 Texas counties flunked the test as part of the “State of the Air 2012 Rankings.” In most cases, the more populated the county, the lower the grade.

Counties locally receiving an “F” include Dallas and Collin, while Rockwall County received a “D” rating. Closer to home, Hunt County received a “B,” having only fallen under the code orange alert one time within the past year.

The code is issued on days when ozone pollution is predicted to reach unhealthy levels for sensitive groups. Dallas County had 23 orange days.
