TEXARKANA - A Quinlan man’s appeal of two life prison terms handed down in 2009 for the sexual assault of a disabled woman are struck down.

The Sixth District Court of Appeals in Texarkana heard the appeal of Larry Wayne Ashley on June 6 and issued its ruling Monday morning.

Ashley had claimed error in the trial court’s admission of five different instances of allegedly extraneous offense evidence. But each claim was overruled and the convictions and sentences were upheld.

The alleged sexual assaults of the female victim by Ashley had occurred in June 2009.
