Update: Paris Police identify Sunday shooting victim

PARIS - In a release issued Monday by Curtis Garrett, public information office for the Paris Police Department, a disturbance Sunday in the 2800 block of Willow Bend resulted in the death of Charles William Jones.

Police say they’ve questioned Randy Bunch, who has admitted to being involved in the shooting. Bunch has since been released and a grand jury will consider the case.

Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.

Jones, 29, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Paris Regional Medical Centershortly after the shooting late Sunday afternoon. Police Chief Bob Hundley told the Paris Newsthat evening that the incident started as an argument between an older man and his daughter’s boyfriend, and that the older man was taken into police custody.
