PARIS - A Paris man, jailed since late April for an alleged assault on his wife the previous month, has now been charged with her murder.
Donna Barrett was found dead in an apparent homicide in her home on Ballard Street on April 28. Her husband, 42-year-old Byron Barrett, was arrested shortly after the incidentfor charges from March of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a family member and impeding breathing/circulation.
Barrett was issued the murder warrant Friday. He remains in the Lamar County Jail.
