Brown's trial delayed until January 2013

GREENVILLE - A new trial date is set for Micah Crofford Brown, the Greenville man who faces the death penalty in the alleged murder of his ex-wife one year ago.

Brown has pleaded not guilty to the shooting death of Stella Michelle Dock Ray. He was facing a November trial date until a decision Friday moved the date to January 2013.

Ray, a Caddo Mills school teacher, was shot and killed in Greenville on July 20, 2011.

Brown remains in custody at the Hunt County Jail on $1.5 million bond. Earlier this year, prosecutors announced they would seek the death penalty if he’s found guilty of the crime.
