GREENVILLE - The guilty verdict issued by a Hunt County jury Thursday was for one count of official misconduct.

The panel found from a multitude of evidence that Solomon, while serving as a public servant, accepted or agreed to accept a benefit from a person she knew to be subject to her regulation, inspection or investigation.  The jury did not find she intentionally misused government property that came into her possession by virtue of her office or employment.

The suit against Solomon was filed in 2010 by Mayor Pete Yoho and at the time two other city officials, seeking her removal from office amid allegations of misconduct.

A hearing Friday will determine if Solomon will be removed from her West Tawakoni Council seat, for which she is seeking reelection and is unopposed on the November 6 ballot. Early voting starts Monday.
