Man Charged in TAMU Bomb Threat

nbcnews.com

Ten days after the entire campus of Texas A&M University-College Station was evacuated due to a bomb threat, a man has been charged with sending the false claim.

Dereon Kelly was charged Monday with making a terroristic threat.

On October 19th, nearly 50,000 students and faculty evacuated the TAMU campus by foot, after a 'Code Maroon' was sent out stating not to use their cars.

Hours later, Dereon Kelly was arrested on unrelated fraud charges.

So how was he found to be connected? His girlfriend is Brittany Henderson, the woman charged with sending the false threat to Texas State University just a day before.  Henderson is a person of interest in both cases.

Both have been placed in jail with bond set at $150,000 each.

Daniel was born and raised in Commerce, TX, and has been a life-long listener of 88.9 KETR.
