Prison Sentence in Attack on Game Warden

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us

A local man has been sentenced to prison for using his vehicle to attack a game warden almost one year ago. Phillip George Beekmann entered guilty pleas during a hearing Wednesday in the 196th district court to one count each of aggravated assault of a public servant, and evading arrest with a vehicle.

Under a plea bargain arrangement, Beekmann was sentenced to 6 years in prison involving the incident on the evening of December 10th, 2011.

On that evening, Sheriff’s deputies and an officer of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department observed a suspicious vehicle being operated without headlights in a rural area of County Road 1064.

The game warden attempted to stop the vehicle, which led to Beekmann leading officers on a high speed pursuit during which Beekmann allegedly stopped abruptly in front of the  game warden, on multiple occasions, causing the vehicles to collide.
