People flooded Helm Lane, and neighboring Cadi Lane in Sulphur Springs Sunday afternoon and watched in amazement and horror as a Quail Ridge Apartment building burned wildly.

Firefighters got a call around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon regarding the fire, and immediately called for more units after arrival at the scene.

Police and Firefighters as well as citizens helped evacuate the complex, while multiple hoses as well as a ladder truck tried to douse the flames.

The firefighters fought the blaze for nearly 3 hours before finally getting it put out. Two firefighters were reported to have been treated by paramedics at the scene.

No injuries to residents were reported.

According to the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram, displaced residents were being offered emergency housing Sunday night at the Nazarene Church.
