Voters in Mount Vernon will soon vote on two separate alcohol-sales measures.

In the upcoming city election, Mount Vernon voters will vote on two alcohol-related ballot initiatives.

One measure would make beer and wine sales legal for off-premise consumption. This would allow for beer and wine sales at grocery stores and convenience stores.

Another measure would allow for the sale of mixed drinks - i.e., hard alcohol - in restaurants.

The election, which will also determine city council places, will be on May 11.
