Emergency personnel and Delta County and Cooper volunteer fire fighters responded to a 5-alarm house fire at 350 SE Fourth Street in Cooper Thursday night.
Cooper VFD Fire Chief Leland Howard said it is likely the fire was started by a window unit air conditioner and spread rapidly up the side of the house into the attic. No one was home at the time. No injuries were reported.
