Paris Police Dept.

Four men are dead after what police suspect was a quadruple homicide in Paris.

updated, 9:10 a.m.

The bodies of Romello Dewain Steward, 18, of Paris; Devante Larry Atkins, 21, of Paris; Brijonne Rashad Woods, 24, of Paris; and Billy Charles Carey, 32, of Garland were recovered by Paris police at a house early Friday morning, according to an official release.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a woman at about 11:23 p.m. last night, police said. She was reporting someone bleeding, the report said.

Paris firemen, EMS and police officers responded to the scene and upon arrival found four men dead at 435 N.E. 6th St., police said.

The bodies were found in a front room of the house, officials said. Each victim had apparent gunshot wounds, police said. Autopsies were ordered by Lamar County Judge Gene Hobbs, they said.

Police have not identified any witnesses to the shooting, the report said.

Investigation revealed that there were two other men in the house at some point during the evening, police said. Officers interviewed one of the men and the other man was arrested on unrelated charges, officials said.

Paris police investigators and Texas Ranger Stacey McNeal have been working at the crime scene, the report said. Based on evidence, murder-suicide has been ruled out, police said.

The investigation continues, police said. Anyone with information should contact Paris police at 903-784-6688 or Lamar County CrimeStoppers at 903-785-TIPS.
