1950s drought exposed Red River's salt problem

State of Texas
Red River: Its salt isn't a problem ecologically, but it is a problem for people wanting to use its water.

In the first episode of a series on the multi-decade effort to reduce the amount of salt in the Red River, KETR speaks with Red River Authority General Manager Curtis Campbell to get an overview of the issue.

Mark Haslett served as KETR's News Director from February 2013 to June 2025. During his tenure the station's news operation enjoyed an increase in listener engagement and audience metrics, as well recognition in the Texas AP Broadcasters awards and a National Edward R. Murrow award.
