GEUS board sets special closed door

Greenville Electric Utility Service

Officials with the local electric utility system will be meeting in a special closed door session later this week.

The reason for the meeting is being kept under wraps, although it reportedly has to do with competitive matters regarding power generation.

The GEUS Board of Trustees is scheduled to convene for the special meeting at noon Friday in the GEUS Operations Center, 6000 Joe Ramsey Boulevard in Greenville. The only action item on the agenda is an executive session under Section 551.086 of the Texas Government Code, Certain Public Power Utilities Competitive Matters, which allows public power utilities to meet and even act on competitive matters under an executive session.

GEUS Executive Assistant Kathy Singleton said Tuesday that the meeting is expected to concern generation, which is considered a competitive matter.
