Man arrested in Caddo Mills incident

Update, Aug. 22, 2014

A Hunt County Sheriff's Department spokesman said that all charges against Carruth were dropped in 2012 on the grounds that Carruth was "incompetent to stand trial and will not regain competence," in the judgment of a physician who filed a report with Hunt County.

Original story:

CADDO MILLS - Public lewdness is among the charges filed against a Hunt County man, who remained in jail Wednesday after he was reportedly found engaging in a disturbing act.

Authorities say 56-year-old Larry Dee Carruth was observed having sex with a miniature horse near Caddo Mills on Saturday night. He was spotted by a landowner and a game warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department who were conducting surveillance for illegal hunters.

While attempting to detain Carruth, he reportedly fought with the officer and attempted to take his weapon.

The Greenville man has been charged with public lewdness, attempting to take a weapon from an officer, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
