Water utilities in Texas and around the country are incorporating wetlands into their water treatment and delivery systems.

The natural filtering processes that occur in wetlands can help water utilities make used water clean once again. KETR spoke with Loretta Mokry, an environmental scientist with Fort Worth-based Alan Plummer Associates, who describes how the Tarrant Regional Water District implemented a "constructed wetlands" program.

Mark Haslett served as KETR's News Director from February 2013 to June 2025. During his tenure the station's news operation enjoyed an increase in listener engagement and audience metrics, as well recognition in the Texas AP Broadcasters awards and a National Edward R. Murrow award.
