Commerce ISDsuperintendent Blake Cooper says the Texas House budget would raise the level of funding for most Texas school districts, and, in fact, would raise funding for the Commerce ISD by about $700,000 per year.

But the Texas Senate is not likely to be as generous, and seems set on approving a school voucher plan, or tax-credit scholarship program.  Blake expects a compromisebetween the House and Senate that accommodates the House's higher level of spending and the Senate's voucher system.
