Cooper Review honored with TASB Media Honor Roll Award

The Cooper Review has again been selected among the 350 Texas newspapers, radio, television stations and online publications to receive the 2015 Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Media Honor Roll award.

TASB sponsors this program which recognizes reporters statewide for fair, accurate and balanced reporting of news about public schools. According to TASB, the criteria for the district selection included “the media representative’s efforts to get to know the superintendent, board president, and the district’s mission and goals; report school news in a fair, accurate and balanced manner; give a high profile of positive news about schools; visit the schools; and maintain a policy of no surprises by sharing information with school officials.”

The Cooper Review has continuously been honored with this award by the Cooper Independent School District each year Editor Cindy Roller has been in her role under the supervision of owners/publisher Jim and Sally Butler.

“I appreciate the high esteem the Cooper schools and its staff and administration especially CISD Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger and CISD Board President Thomas Darden have for the work we do at the Cooper Review,” said Editor Cindy Roller, graciously.

Some of the other area media outlets to receive this honor were: Fannin County Leader, KXII Channel 12, Gainesville Daily Register, KGAF-AM 1580, Weekly News of Cooke County, Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune, Leonard Graphic, Denton Record Chronicle, IonMesquite.com, Clarksville Times and Sachse News.
