Suspects Sought in Shots Fired in Cooper

DCSO

Delta County Sheriff’s office is currently seeking two suspects that fled the scene of a crime in Cooper, Texas.

In a press release from the Delta County Sheriff’s office it was reported on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at around 11:30 p.m., law enforcement received a 911 call of an attempted shooting in the 500 block of SW 1st Street in Cooper. Upon arrival, deputies located four 9mm shell casings in the front yard of the residence.

“Fortunately nobody at the location was struck by any bullets. It appears that the motive in the incident was a dispute over a female,” explained Delta County Patrol Sergeant Ryan Brown. “We believe that all of the shots were fired into the air. Two suspects fled the location in a white passenger car.”

With positive identification on one of the two occupants as well as the vehicle, local law enforcement is currently working on identifying the second suspect – suspected to be from the Mount Pleasant area.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
