Texas A&M University-Commerce Athletic Director Tim McMurray says, despite the Lions' last-minute, 26-25 loss to Midwestern State last Saturday night, the team has a very good chance of making the NCAA Division II playoffs for the second year in a row if it wins the remaining five regular-season games. Tim says the game drew a crowd of more than 9,200 to Memorial Stadium. Also, the 24th-ranked A&M-Commerce soccer team is in position to host the Lone Star Conference tournament starting November 3, if it holds on to the top spot in the conference.
