Northeast Texas Unemployment at Record Lows in October

The national unemployment rate dipped below 4 percent in October, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Texas is one of 13 states to report record unemployment lows. Part of the reason for record lows in Texas is record low unemployment rates in several counties, including Grayson Hunt and Fannin. The Texas Workforce Commission reported Friday that unemployment in much of the Texoma region was about 3 percent in October.

Hunt County’s 3.3 percent unemployment rate is also the lowest in the county so far this century.
