Dr. Shenequa Miller, principal at Commerce Middle School, has been placed on administrative leave, according to a statement from the Commerce Independent School District. Miller is on leave “pending an investigation,” the district said. Miller's suspension began on April 17, the district said.
No other information was made available. Commerce ISD did not specify the reason for the leave, or whether the investigation was an internal one related to district policy, or an external investigation involving law enforcement.
Miller has served as Commerce Middle school principal since August 2016.
Tina Bronson has been named acting principal of Commerce Middle School. Bronson is currently assistant principal at A. C. Williams Elementary School and has been since summer 2016. Bronson began her career in education as an elementary teacher at A.C. Williams in January 2007.
