Alice Reese, Herald-Banner movie reviewer, says "Aladdin" is an effective live-action remake of the animated Disney classic. She's surprised that the movie was directed by Guy Richie, known for his violent films, and says some children do find the villains in the "Aladdin" very frightening. Alice greatly enjoyed the R-rated teen comedy "Booksmart."
