Reddistricting has moved most of Hunt County into the Collin County-based 3rd Congressional District.

In Hunt County, many voters will get a chance to see their new congressman later this week. U.S. Rep. Keith Self is expected to visit the American Legion post in Greenville on Friday afternoon.

Redistricting has changed things up regarding Hunt County’s representation in Washington. In the last round of redistricting, most of Hunt County – including Greenville and Commerce – was moved from the 4th to the 3rd U.S. Congressional District. The move meant that most Hunt County voters no longer have Pat Fallon as their congressman. Fallon continues to represent much of Northeast Texas in Washington. The 3rd Congressional District includes most of Collin County as well as most of Hunt County. Keith Self is from McKinney and is serving his first term in Congress. Self is scheduled to appear at the American Leagion post in Greenville at 3 p.m. The American Legion Post 17 is located at 4509 Moulton Street.
