The March 2 event at the Collin College Farmersville campus is part of the plan to determine the path of a proposed new highway south of the city limits.

In Farmersville, the planning process continues regarding a major overhaul of U.S. Hwy 380 in far eastern Collin County. A public meeting in early March will provide locals with another chance to offer their thoughts regarding the plan. U.S. Hwy. 380 is going to be re-routed south of its current path. The re-routing is planned to begin just east of Lavon Lake and continue until the Collin-Hunt county line, at which point Hwy. 380 will rejoin its current path. The stretch of highway in question runs a little more than seven and a half miles. The plan is to leave the existing Highway 380 through Farmersville as a local business route, with through traffic taking the new bypass. The main questions regarding the project involve exactly where the new highway would be placed.

The next public hearing in the planning process is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday March 2nd, at the Collin College Farmersville campus. More information about the plan and the public input process can be found at keepitmovingdallas.com.
