Water pipeline construction through northern Hunt County to begin this year

friday morning newscast graphic

The system delivering water from Lake Ralph Hall to Collin County is scheduled to be completed in 2025.

This summer in northern Hunt County, crews are expected to begin construction of the pipeline that will take water from Lake Ralph Hall to Collin County. Lake Ralph Hall is currently under construction in southeastern Fannin County, north of Ladonia. The Upper Trinity Regional Water District is planning to get water from Lake Ralph Hall to its customers in Collin County by means of a 32-mile pipeline.

The five-and-a-half-foot-wide pipeline is mapped out to run between Wolfe City and Fairlie. The route continues across northern Hunt County, running just south of Celeste. The delivery system will include a small balancing reservoir northeast of Merit. The pipeline will then connect with existing infrastructure north of Farmersville. The pipeline is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
