Billy Law has played a backing role in the Dallas band Ottoman Turks for a decade, but he has always been writing his own material that he imagined releasing someday. After several restarts in the production process, that dream has finally become reality with the State Fair Records release of his debut album Alone Somewhere. Law checked in with Notably Texan to discuss his new challenges of being a bandleader versus part of the rhythm section, some of the stories behind his diverse list of songs, and explain the naming of his backing band “The Baby Boys.”
