Franklin to forgo another term on council

www.ci.greenville.tx.us

GREENVILLE - Greenville City Council member Betty Franklin has announced she will not be running for another term this spring.

She’ll be the second incumbent who won’t return after the May elections.

Franklin stated in a letter to Mayor Tom Oliver that her decision was due to personal and job-related reasons.

The election will include the Mayor’s post and council places 5 and 6. Oliver is ineligible to run this time around, having served two consecutive terms in the position. Bryan Herrin in Place 5 is eligible to run again but has not yet announced plans to do so.
