Festival Of Outtakes

Texas Parks and Wildlife

On today's Blacklands Cafe, outtakes with three of our regulars, Hunt County Historical Commission chairman Carol Taylor, discussing the somewhat mixed reaction to the entry of the U.S. into World War I, 100 years ago; Texas A&M-Commerce economics professor and interim dean of business Dr. Dale Funderburk, commenting on the importance of transportation to the ranking of Texas as the no.1 state for business by CEO magazine; and A&M-Commerce associate professor of counseling Dr. LaVelle Hendricks, discussing the friendship he has formed with civil rights icon Andrew Young, since his visit here in April.  LaVelle says this has led to the possible involvement of the A&M-Commerce agriculture department in Young's duckweed project, designed to help feed the hungry.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
