An early voting record in Hunt County is likely this week.

More than 8600 people have now cast early ballots ahead of the elections one week from today, with four days of early voting remaining. A total of 1,174 people took advantage of extended early voting hours this past weekend, according to Hunt County elections administrator Mina Cook. Cook says that another 1,013 people voted early by personal appearance Monday with 14 limited ballots accepted. The 1,027 ballots brought the total for early voting so far to 8,651 ballots. The record total number of ballots cast during an early voting period in the county, 13,273, was set during the 2008 general elections. Early voting for the November 6th general election and a handful of other elections will continue through Friday at the Hunt County Voter Administration office in downtown Greenville.
