No Sticking Heads Out Of Car Windows: Spring & Summer Dog Safety

Greenville Animal Hospital, Facebook

Dr. Karri McCreary, veterinarian and co-owner of the Greenville Animal Hospital, reflects on some recommended spring and summer safety tips for pets.

Among the advice provided, dogs should not be permitted to hold their heads outside of car windows to avoid injuries to the eyes and ear infections. Dogs riding in boats should wear life preservers as people do. And some dogs need sunscreen protection. And Dr. McCreary says it takes awhile for dogs to get acclimated to warmer temperatures, so don't push them too hard, too soon.
