The number of COVID-19 active cases in Hunt County dropped for the fifth consecutive day. In Hopkins County, the number rose yesterday after a few days of a downward trend.

  • Hunt County active cases of COVID-19 declined for the fifth consecutive day, from 302 to 280. Cases in Hopkins County rose yesterday after a recent downward trend.
  • Northeastern Hunt County and other nearby areas are at a very high risk for wildfire today, according to maps published by the Texas A&M University Forest Service. Much of Northeast Texas is identified as at high risk for fire, with the very high risk designation corresponding roughly to a 20-mile circle around Commerce.
  • The two-mile-long dam for Bois d'Arc Lake in Fannin County is nearly complete. Builders plan to have the lake open to the public some time next spring.
