Redistricting in the Texas Senate moves Hunt County and Rains County from Edgewood republican Bob Hall's District 2 into into District 8, represented by McKinney Republican Angela Paxton.
The change strengthens Paxton's GOP support in the 8th District, which includes most of Collin County. Paxton defeated her Democratic counterpart by fewer than three points in 2018.
Fannin, Delta, and Hopkins Counties move from Texas Senate District 2 into District 1, represented by Mineola Republican Bryan Hughes.
Strong winds are expected across Northeast Texas on Thursday, with sustained northwesterly winds 25-35 MPH, husting to 50 MPH.
