  • The change strengthens Paxton's GOP support in the 8th District, which includes most of Collin County. Paxton defeated her Democratic counterpart by fewer than three points in 2018.
  • Fannin, Delta, and Hopkins Counties move from Texas Senate District 2 into District 1, represented by Mineola Republican Bryan Hughes.
  • Strong winds are expected across Northeast Texas on Thursday, with sustained northwesterly winds 25-35 MPH, husting to 50 MPH.
