- Tyrone Jamaal Williams, 35, of San Marcos, is scheduled to go on trial today in the 196th District Court in Greenville. Williams is accused of murdering two Commerce women, Nichole Elizabeth Gonzales, 27, and her mother, Vicki Ann Gonzales, 51, in 2016. Hunt County District Attorney Noble D. Walker has indicated he intends to seek the death penalty if Williams is convicted of capital murder.
- Hunt Regional Healthcare officials have confirmed normal operations at the Emergency Medical Center in Commerce. The facility was closed Aug. 7 through Oct. 27 so that staff could be assigned to Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville to address a surge in COVID-19 patients.
