Polls are open in Texas for Election Day, which features 8 amendments to the state Constitution.

Prop 6 would establish the right of long-term care facility residents to designate an essential caregiver for in-person visits. Earlier in the pandemic, family and other caregivers were restricted from visiting nursing homes.
Bonds proposals in Hunt County include a new Commerce Middle School building, a new Hunt County jail and sheriff's office, and Lone Oak ISD facility improvements. West Tawakoni has three council seats on today's ballots, along with a proposed freeze on property taxes for seniors. The newly incorporated city of Poetry has a sales tax proposal for street maintenance funds.
