Lions Take on Letourneau at Fan Appreciation Day

Texas A&M-Commerce women’s basketball team are back home Wednesday, November 22, looking for a win on Fan Appreciation Day. Fan Appreciation Day includes free admission for all fans.

The Lions (2-2) look to bounce back from their last home game, a loss to Lubbock Christian, 74-39. Expect the Lions energized coming off their first road win against St. Edwards 71-64.

Brianna Wise and Artaejah Gay have been named the Lone Star Conference Players of the Week. Wise won Offensive Player of the Week and Gay won Defensive Player of the Week. Wise had a career-high 25 pts against St. Edward’s and Gay had a career-high 4 blocks. It’s the second game this season Wise has reached a career high; 24 pts against Metro State.

Letourneau University (0-1) averages 43 ppg  this season. LU is struggling from the field shooting just 24%. Last season LU was bounced from the first round of conference tournament losing 68-96 to Mary-Hardin Baylor, finishing the season 13-13.

Players to Watch

 

Brianna Wise #2 (TAMUC) -Lions leading scorer, 14.5 ppg and 5.3 rebs of the season.

Keauna Whitfield #4 (Letourneau) - Lead the team in its only game, 16 ppg and 8 rebs. The freshman from Rosebud-Lott High School averaged 20.1 ppg, 11.4 rebs, 4.6 ast and 5.1 stl her senior year.
