Students, faculty and staff at all 11 Texas A&M System universities across the state will soon have quick and easy access to free testing for COVID-19.

 

“Ensuring the health and safety of our students is our top priority,” said John Sharp, chancellor of the Texas A&M University System. “Facilitating increased accessibility and availability of COVID-19 testing will help us mitigate the spread and help to protect each other by taking preventative and proactive measures.”

Texas A&M University-Commerce has announced that it is set to become a smoke-, vape- and tobacco-free campus on January 1, 2020.

Dr. Mark Rudin, president of A&M-Commerce, sent a letter to the university community on December 13 explaining the details of the decision and policy.

Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp announced today that the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents has named Mark Rudin as the sole finalist for the position of President of Texas A&M University-Commerce. Rudin was selected during a telephonic meeting of the Board of Regents.

  Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp announced Monday, February 5, that a 13-member committee has been created to conduct a national search for the next President of Texas A&M University-Commerce.

The committee includes two members of The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents and representation from the faculty, students and administrators at A&M-Commerce, as well as several community leaders from the region.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has named Texas A&M University chancellor John Sharp to lead post-Harvey rebuilding efforts in the state. 

John Sharp, Chancellor of The Texas A&M University System, announced today that Dr. Ray M.  Keck has been appointed Interim President at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Keck succeeds Dr. Dan Jones, who served as President at A&M-Commerce from 2008 until he passed away April 29.

Since 2001, Dr. Keck has served as the fifth president of Texas A&M International University in Laredo, where he worked closely with Dr. Jones, who served as provost from 2003 until his presidential appointment at Commerce.
