Awards presented to Post 483

The Red Henderson Post 483 of the American Legion has been presented several accolades on both the National and State levels.

The Cooper Post is continuing the tradition that has spanned the past three years with the recognition of the Post Retention Award, achieving 90 percent or higher retention of previous year members, and Post Recruiting Award, achieving 10 percent or higher increase over previous year members.

Post 483 Commander Gary Thompson was honored with the National Commander Daniel M. Dellinger Certificate of Appreciation. The certificate states for “successfully accomplishing 100 percent of its annual membership goal for the 2014 year, this is a sure sign your leadership and member involvement at your post are proudly serving veterans and you appreciate the value of membership.” The membership of the Post is vitally important to the community.

Post 483, District 1 also received the Certificate of Appreciation from The American Legion, Department of Texas of McAllen, Texas.

Post 483 in Cooper was also the recipient of the Membership Award for 2014 with just over 50 members. This certificate shows the Post’s commitment to “Building For Tomorrow Today” and continuous support shows the Post is “Still Serving America.”
