Greenville Chase Bank Robbed, Suspect In Custody

A person, described by Greenville police only as a juvenile, robbed the local Chase bank at knifepoint, but was later captured, according to Greenville police.

At 10:25 a.m. on July 17, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Chase bank branch, located at 5906 Wesley Street. A suspect displaying a knife robbed the bank and left with a large amount of case, police said.

Greenville Police Department officers and Hunt County Sheriff’s Office deputy responding to the incident saw the suspect running toward the nearby Dawson Apartments, police said. Officers arrested the suspect and recovered the money, which will be returned to the bank, police said.

No further information about the suspect or the suspect’s status was released by law enforcement.
