Emory bank robbery suspect pleads guilty

By Brad Kellar

Emory – A guilty plea is entered in a Rains County robbery. 47-year-old Freddy Lee Criss, of Dallas, entered the guilty plea Wednesday.

Reports indicate Criss robbed the First National Bank of Emory on April 30 when he ordered a bank customer to the floor, demanded cash and fled with U.S. Currency.

He was arrested just south of Greenville a short time later, following a brief pursuit which ended when Criss wrecked his car in the 2400 block of Highway 69 south of Greenville.

Criss faces up to 20 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
