One Commerce theft suspect still in custody

By Brad Kellar

Commerce – An Irving woman remains in custody in connection with Monday's incident at the Commerce Wal-Mart.

18-year-old Hillary Lynn Clark is one of three people who were arrested following the reported theft. All three are alleged to have been part of a shoplifting ring which targeted Wal-Mart stores across North Texas.

Clark is now seeking a reduction in her $17,500 bond. She was the only one of the suspects still in custody as of Thursday.

Shortly following the Monday's theft, a Hunt County Sheriff's deputy caught up with the three and arrested Clark, along with 41-year-old David Eugene Marshall, and 26-year-old Daniel Lee Patrick.

The stolen merchandise was discovered inside the Brigham Cemetery in Campbell. The vehicle also held a receipt printer and a bar code scanner, which allegedly allowed the suspects to create false receipts for the stolen merchandise and return the items for cash.
